KeyStone® Solid Surface Care & Maintenance

Basic Care

  • Clean with a damp cloth

  • Wipe up spills with a paper towel

  • Soap and water

Disinfecting

KeyStone® Solid Surface is a non-porous material.  Due to this fact, it does not harbor bacteria and soap and water can be used to clean your top.

Occasional disinfecting can be administered by using diluted household bleach:  1 part water/1 part bleach.

Preventative Care

For the lasting beauty of your KeyStone® Solid Surface top, Blume's highly recommends a hot pad or trivet with rubber feet must be used underneath hot pots, pans, or other heat-generating appliances such as crock pots, skillets, etc.

Cutting boards are also highly advised to be used instead of cutting directly on the top itself.  This will prevent unsightly scratches.

It is also recommended that strong chemicals, especially acetone based cleaners and chemicals be avoided.

Some chemicals that should be avoided, but are not limited to:

  • Paint Removers

  • Oven Cleaners

  • Highly Abrasive Cleaners

  • Nail Polish Remover
